HUD’s Good Neighbor Next Door Loan Program is an awesome loan program for Albuquerque police officers, firefighters, school teachers and EMT’s.
This incredible program allows a select group of people to purchase HUD repo homes for half of what other people can. That’s right, an amazing 50% off already discounted HUD homes. There’s what’s called a “soft” second loan (meaning you don’t pay it) that is forgiven after three years if you stay (you can’t rent it out) and you pay. Stay in the house for three years and the soft second loan is forgiven. Wiped out! Gone!
Is that awesome or what?
Here’s a short video from Albuquerque lender Wes Moore that gives you more details about the Good Neighbor Next Door Loan Program:
As Wes points out at the end of the video, like any other loan you must qualify, and you can’t have owned a house within the last year.
Which homes are eligible? HUD foreclosure homes that are in specialized revitalization areas. Want to know which homes are eligible? You must use a HUD registered real estate broker like me.
