Today’s Albuquerque Real Estate Show was “Buying an Albuquerque Home: Getting from Contract to Close.”
We talked about three big steps that need to happen once your offer on a home has been accepted: inspections, appraisal and title research. Each one of these steps is there to protect home buyers to insure they are making a smart home purchase. We talked about what a home inspection covers, what a wood destroying insect inspection is, plus a little bit about other less frequent inspections like radon, mold and lead based paint inspections.
We also talked about appraisals and how they are not really scientific valuations of homes, but rather about how appraisers really have a much different job, that of verifying value for the bank.
We touched briefly on what title company does to protect your home purchase as well.
