Happy New Year! I am looking forward to 2015, I think it’s going to be a very solid year for Albuquerque real estate. Each new year we are distancing ourselves from the housing crash a little further. Short sales are shrinking, foreclosures appear to be on the decline, underwater homeowners are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel and new home communities like Mirehaven are popping up all over town. And whereas everywhere I turned in 2008 and 2009 the economic news was horrible, now the the economic news is almost all promising.
So to kick off this great new year I’m kicking off my Crazy Albuquerque Real Estate Blog-a-thon for January 2015!!!
What is a Crazy Blog-a-Thon? Well, I don’t have a model for this, so I’ll just be making up the rules as I go.
Well, that’s not entirely true. Although I’ve got no real estate model for this, the actual idea came from my favorite sports blog, BleacherNation.com. It’s a blog that covers the Chicago Cubs and every summer the author does blog-a-thon right before the July 31st trade deadline.
It’s author, Brett Taylor, stays up for 24 hours (maybe it’s even longer) before the MLB trade deadline writing post after post outlining every trade, whether an actual trade takes place or is just rumored.
Well I’m not going to pull any all-nighters for my blog-a-thon, and whereas Brett’s blog-a-thon is a sprint, mine’s going to be a marathon. My crazy Albuquerque blog-a-thon is going to last 31 days.
What I’m going to do is publish 100 posts here on AlbuquerqueRealEstateBuzz.com (maybe more if the spirit moves me) in 31 days.
I’ll be posting year end market reports, new community pages (they will be pages on this site but they’ll count as posts toward the total because, well, I get to make up the rules!) There will be video posts, regular blog posts about house issues like how to keep pipes from freezing (a timely topic here in Albuquerque during the early hours of January 1, 2015) that I’ve been meaning to write for a year, plus a new morning feature every day – yes every day – of morning bullets describing what a real estate agent actually does on an every day basis.
Does 100 posts in 31 days sound like a challenging task to you? It sounds like a big, fun challenge to me!
So check back often this month, like several times a day, and if you appreciate what I’m doing here, won’t you please considering giving it a Like, a Tweet or a +1 for me?
